Meet Brady
Brady A. Middleton is a West Michigan native, manufacturing and technology entrepreneur, inventor, and candidate for Michigan State Senate, 29th District. A graduate of Grand Valley State University with a B.S. in Political Science, Brady is the co-founder of Metas — named one of Michigan’s Top 50 Businesses to Watch (2019), named The World’s Greatest Label Company, and featured on Bloomberg. He holds patents in the United States, EU, UK, Canada, Mexico, Japan, Indonesia, India, and more than 20 additional countries.
In 2009, Brady was the victim of a violent assault in Grand Rapids that cost him his college basketball scholarship and left him with a traumatic brain injury. He chose forgiveness over resentment — becoming a mentor to the youngest of his attackers, a 13-year-old boy named Marcellus, who went on to graduate high school. That story of redemption was covered by the Grand Rapids Press, the Detroit Free Press, the Daily Mail (UK), the Associated Press, and hundreds of outlets worldwide.
“I was pistol-whipped, robbed, carjacked, kidnapped, forced to my knees, and told I was going to be killed — just two weeks after high school graduation. Instead of staying bitter, I spent five years mentoring my 13-year-old attacker, Marcellus, until he graduated high school. That experience taught me that redemption is possible — but only when justice actually works for victims, families, and taxpayers alike.”

Michigan fell from 18th to 40th in per capita income. Brady will back small businesses, cut waste and fraud, tackle Kent County’s housing shortage, and create real pathways to prosperity for every family.
A vast majority of crime victims never see a dime of restitution. Brady will enforce accountability, deliver justice to victims, and break the cycles that keep communities from healing.
Brady believes the real divide isn’t left vs. right — it’s People vs. a Broken System. He’ll reach across the aisle to deliver results for every West Michigan family, regardless of party.
Nearly 40% of Kent County children ages 4–17 are overweight or obese. Brady is committed to evidence-based policies that improve school nutrition, strengthen PE programs, expand access to healthy foods, and support parental involvement so every child has the foundation to thrive.
Brady’s legislation will require all legislators to publish every lobbyist, corporation, advocacy group, and individual who tried to influence their vote — for every single vote. The people of Michigan deserve to know what is happening behind the scenes that has caused so many failed policies and destroyed our state.
